Our Artisans & Craftsmanship
The Art Behind Every Utensil
At Kansyakar®, every piece we create carries the soul of a centuries-old tradition. Our utensils are not just products — they are a living legacy of India's finest metal craftsmanship, passed down through generations of skilled artisans.
🏺 The Metals We Work With
We work exclusively with three of India's most revered traditional metals:
- Kansa (Bronze) — An alloy of copper and tin, Kansa has been used in Indian households for over 5,000 years. Ayurveda recognises it as the most beneficial metal for eating and drinking, known to balance the body's doshas and improve digestion.
- Brass (Peetal) — A timeless alloy of copper and zinc, brass utensils are known for their antimicrobial properties and warm golden lustre. Traditionally used in Indian kitchens and temples.
- Copper (Tamba) — Revered in Ayurveda for its water-purifying properties, copper vessels have been an integral part of Indian wellness rituals for millennia.
🔨 The Making Process
Each Kansyakar® utensil is crafted using traditional techniques that have stood the test of time:
- Metal Sourcing — We source only high-purity metals from trusted suppliers to ensure food-grade quality.
- Hand Casting & Shaping — Skilled artisans shape each piece by hand using traditional moulds and hammering techniques.
- Kalai (Tin Coating) — Brass and copper utensils used for cooking are coated with a thin layer of food-safe tin (Kalai) by master craftsmen, a practice that has been followed for centuries in India.
- Hand Polishing — Each piece is hand-polished to achieve its signature warm metallic finish.
- Quality Inspection — Every utensil undergoes a thorough quality check before packaging.
